Agronomist’s noteHalosulfuron, the go-to for nutgrass and other sedges, and safe on most warm-season turf. It works slowly: yellowing shows in one to two weeks. A second application is often needed on established nutgrass. Spray only actively growing weeds, don’t apply to lawns under heat or drought stress, and don’t mow for 2 days before or after. Tip: add Wetter 600 to the tank (unless the label says otherwise). It helps droplets spread and stick on waxy leaves for better uptake. Check the label for important PPE requirements.
